Congratulations Washington! The Washington Elementary School library won first prize in the Burlingame Public Library's poetry contest for local elementary schools. The contest awarded the school that had the greatest per capita submission of student written poems during the month of January. Our first place prize was a "library dog" which now sits a top a shelf in the easy fiction section. Students are permitted to pet the dog, named Dewey, put aren't allowed to pull him down of the shelf. Thank you to all students who wrote and turned in a poem to the public library.
